LEGALLY BLONDE 2 - Red White & Blonde -
Certificate PG –
release date December 1st

vidtuxedo Reese Witherspoon is back in Elle Woods’ strappy shoes, and this time she’s taking on Washington D.C.!

Having conquered Harvard, the blonde, effervescent, pink-loving law school grad, is now a rising young lawyer at a great firm, balancing a demanding a career with preparations for her wedding to the man of her dreams. But when she finds out that her beloved dog Bruiser’s family members are being used as cosmetic test subjects by one of her firm’s own clients, she stands up for their rights, and is promptly fired. She’s devastated, but you can’t keep an optimist down.

Ms. Woods goes to Washington to take matters into her own French-manicured hands. Trying to learn the political ropes and win over politicians, Elle faces a formidable challenge, and in a sea of grey, black, and navy, she sticks out like a pink thumb. Others on The Hill aren’t immediately kind to “Capitol Barbie” and D.C. isn’t an easy place for a person with impeccable fashion sense and a Harvard Law degree.

But with her clever and sassy signature blend of intelligence and determination, she bucks the system the Elle Woods way. Speaking up for Bruiser and his family, Elle eventually inspires those around her to find voices of their own.

RIPLEY’S GAME -
Certificate 15 –
release date Monday 8th December

vidtuxedo How do you turn an innocent person into a murderer? That’s the diabolical game that Tom Ripley (John Malkovich) plays on an unassuming Englishman after he insults Ripley at a party. Set some decades after The Talented Mr. Ripley, happily married to a beautiful harpsichord player and living in luxury in Italy, Ripley receives an unwelcome visit from an old fellow in crime who is in search of a hit man to take care of two enemies.

Spotting his chance for revenge, Ripley makes a deal with innocent English picture framer Jonathan Trevanny (Dougray Scott), who has leukaemia and simply needs the money for his family, drawing him into a spiral of violence, murder and deception, that even provokes a war between Mafiosi and rival gangs. Yet as soon as Ripley’s game is almost over, the unlikely relationship linking the manipulator to his victim produces unforeseen developments.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN - The Curse of the Black Pearl -
Cert 12A –
release date December 1st

Inspired by the time-honoured Disney theme-park ride, Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Black Pearl, is a swashbuckling high-seas tale set in an era when villainous pirates scavenged the Caribbean seas. When Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), an eccentric rogue, arrives at Port Royal, he barely avoids going down with his ship.

Soon enough, he’s in the market for a new one, but not before he saves the life of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). This act of bravery sets into motion a sweeping adventure involving Elizabeth’s childhood friend, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom). Together, they must battle a band of the world’s most treacherous pirates, led by the cursed Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), in order to save Elizabeth, the love of Will’s life, as well as recover the lost treasure that Jack seeks.

Against improbable odds, they race towards a thrilling, climactic confrontation on the mysterious Isla de Muerta. Clashing their swords in fierce mortal combat, Will and Jack attempt to recapture The Black Pearl ship, save the British navy, and relinquish a fortune in forbidden treasure thereby lifting the curse of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

BUFFALO SOLDIERS -
Cert 15 –
release date December 29th

It’s 1989. The Berlin Wall is about to fall, and the world is about to be made safe for the new world order. But outside of Stuttgart, West Germany, at Theodore Roosevelt Army Base, Specialist Ray Elwood (Joaquin Phoenix) of the 317th Supply Battalion is about to find his own cold war turn white hot. Elwood’s a loveable rogue, a conscript who’s managed to turn his military servitude into a blossoming network of black market deals, more out of boredom than ambition. Officially, Elwood has a day job, as battalion secretary to the inept but caring Commander Wallace Berman (Ed Harris).

On the side, there’s everything from selling the locals stolen Mop’N’Glo to cooking heroin for the base’s ruthless head of Military Police, Sgt. Saad. When a new top sergeant (Scott Glenn) arrives, with the avowed intention of cleaning the base up, Elwood thinks the new blood is nothing he can’t handle, especially after he lays eyes on the top’s daughter, rebellious Robyn (Anna Paquin).

But that was before he figured in the $5 million in stolen arms that just landed on his lap, Berman’s jealous wife, an insane Turkish drug dealer, and, of course, the resulting lust, betrayal, and murder.
