Restaurant Guide

This month Rapture went along to …

Mango

a Wine Bar/Brassiere in the heart of Arundel..

Inside the look and feel of the place is a mix of the old world charm of Arundel with a modern twist. The restaurant area is a canopied conservatory which makes it a pleasant place to eat even on the hottest of days

We were shown to our table by our waitress for the evening, a very pleasant young lady who made us feel …

"that nothing was too much trouble"

For starters I chose the Deep Fried Goats Cheese with rocket and red onion marmalade. A real difference to what I would have normally chosen, but it turned out to be a real treat. For the main course I opted for the Lamb Shank slow cooked in red wine…

"a dish that came highly recommended by Michael, the owner"

After one mouthful it was easy to see why this was such a firm favourite. The meat literally fell apart and melted in the mouth. I finished with something that has to be the king of deserts, a giant profiterole.

"Filled with cream and covered in melted chocolate there was no better way to end the meal"

We decided to finish our evening in the garden, which is absolutely beautiful. When the weather permits it is the perfect end to the perfect evening. It's very tranquil and provides a little bit of escapism from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

As we made our way back through the restaurant to leave, we were surprised to see how busy it had become since we had disappeared outside. Michael chose to open Mango in Arundel due to the area's reputation and prestige. His aim is to provide and maintain a high standard of quality and service while building a on his regular custom. No mean feat in a fickle world when there is so much choice to be had if you want to eat out, but judging by the amount of regulars in there that night…

"Michael and the staff of Mango are obviously doing something right"

They are due to celebrate there first anniversary this month and it's not hard to imagine them still being there to celebrate many more in years to come.
