Dead Jack

Punch House, Thursday 19th June

On 19th it was Southampton's "Dead Jack".
They played an energetic punk-metal and their youthful enthusiasm was entertaining to watch. Here are some of the comments salvaged from my beer strewn, near illegible scrawl...

"Great energy" – Kaos.
"Classic pub performance" – Rapture
"Look good, give off a vibe" – Rox.
"Enthusiastic but not riveting, can't decide if they…
are rock or punk, the banter needs work" –
Spirit FM.
"A little bit Alice Cooper" –  Wasted Media.
"Good stage presence" – Punch House
"Powerful, raw" – Airtight Studios.
"Mental'!" – Cut and Groove.
"Bass player had beef …
and good sweaty locks" –

'The JOIN'

Punch House Thursday 3rd July

On the 3rd it was the turn of "The JOIN".
They represent a coming together of some of the scenes most innovative forces - including current or former members of Grifter, SpaceBaby, Stone Cold, Teen Spirit, Funkologists and Diesel Jesus in their ranks. They created a maelstrom of psychedelic space rock and powerful grooves that captured the imagination...

"The best so far" Kaos.
"Houston, we have a classic" – Rapture
"Great sax, tight drums" – Rox.
"One tour & these guys would be wicked,
reminds me of Club Dog, Finsbury 1987" –
Spirit FM.
"Very promising, lots of improvisation & …
wide range of influences" –
 Wasted Media.
"Have potential" – Punch House
"A right motley crew but really good with it…
a rich, warm sound" –

"Good varied performance, …
deep & trippy but good fun" –
Airtight Studios.
"They like making noise , could be very interesting" – Cabco .
"Good harmonies and wicked sounds,…
if I was drunk I'd be dancing!" –
